Artist Feature: The Dailies
The Dailies are an LA-based band comprised of husband-and-wife Chad and Erica Reisser on vocals, with Mike Lee on keyboards, Dana Decker on bass, Rosy on drums, and Corey Witt on guitar. Married for nearly 10 years, a passion for music has prevailed in their lives- Chad and Erica’s careers have ranged from “session singer, writer, arranger, lyricist, teacher, conductor, engineer, and producer” (from their MySpace Music page). With a blend of this solid music know-how and their unique perspective, The Dailies have a sound that is immediately refreshing.
It a tough task for musicians to be radio-ready accessible and not lose touch with authenticity; the Dailies have this key aspect zeroed in impeccably. Tracks from their upcoming new release Mixing Metaphors, like “Now What” and “All In”, could easily be Top 40 hits with their fun, catchy vibe, while “She Goes” is soft and sentimental with Chad and Erica’s trade-off vocals. “Signal Chain” has particularly beautiful moments, building up to catharsis around the middle of the track. “A Sovereign Nation Sleeps Beside Me” is a particular highlight, a gleaming example of what modern pop/rock should sound like (yes, I’m talking about the mainstream, even), but, hey, maybe the Dailies just do it better!
Their CD release event for The Dailies’ Mixing Metaphors is scheduled for March 7th, 11 pm at the Hotel Cafe in Los Angeles.
