British rapper M.I.A. (Mathangi Arulpragasam), whose Neneh Cherry-aping performance was the talk of the Grammys, gave birth to a baby boy on Wednesday, according to an entry on her MySpace page*. This is the first child for Ms. Arulpragasam and her fiancé, Ben Brewer. She is scheduled to perform at the Oscars on February 22nd, where she is nominated for Best Original Song for “O Saya,” her collaboration with A.R. Rahman for Slumdog Millionaire. Somehow, I think she’ll be able to perform.
