Caddywhompus, is a two-man experimental / noise group from New Orleans, with Chris Rehm on vocals, guitar, and keyboard and Sean Hart on vocals and percussion. Clocking in at just 13 minutes, and offering up an impressively expansive sound within the duration, their newly-released, 4-song Caddywhompus EP is available for free download on their website and Last.fm.

They have a unique brand of psychedelic-flavored catchiness, amidst the fuzzed-out and whirling experimentation, present right from the opener “This is Where We Blaze the Nuggz”’. “Fun Times at Whiskey Bay” takes an introspective turn, with lyrics like “I feel safe with you and you with me / My smile spreads ‘till I can’t see”, while “Absinthesizer” (an excellent title) serves as a brief, punchy intermission. The EP culminates with “Untitled #7408”m a softer tune awash in melody and shoegaze-meets-garage-rock wonderment.
